Sustainability at SYNAXON

We are tackling climate change

From online searches to office buildings and company cars – pretty much everything causes emissions and increases the greenhouse effect. We can’t let that stand! Because it is our responsibility as a company to actively combat this and reduce our emissions. We have incorporated this into our mission statement and drew up a sales CO₂ balance sheet for the first time in 2019, which is still the basis for our actions today.

SYNAXON’s 3-step strategy

Simply covering up our CO₂ emissions with greenwashing measures is not an option for us! And anyone who knows us knows that empty words don’t suit us – especially not when it comes to such an important topic. So we have developed a 3-step strategy to establish the topic of sustainability in our day-to-day business.

Compensation

In the third step, we offset the emissions that we cannot avoid. However, we do not simply buy our way out or support an organization with a water head or negative publicity in the past. We want someone who really makes a difference and whom we trust. After long, detailed research, we can say that we have: long-term compensation through tree planting by the companies Ecosia and PRIMAKLIMA.

We are committed to greater sustainability

Foundation of the „Sustainability“ focus group

As the hub of a network of thousands of IT companies, we have a great deal of leverage to make a difference. We use this in the iTeam focus group „Sustainability“, in which we discuss problems, opportunities and solutions. True to the motto: „A lot helps a lot“, more and more partners should develop an awareness of the issue of sustainability and pass it on to their customers, who in turn talk about it with as many people as possible.

Climate-friendly shipping with Deutsche Post

With „GoGreen“, Deutsche Post offers a climate-friendly shipping option that we are only too happy to use to make a further contribution to sustainability. The CO₂ emissions generated during transport are offset by investments in internationally recognized climate protection projects. The GoGreen program is used for press products and advertising mailings such as Dialogpost, Postaktuell and Postwurfspezial.

Carrying out an external energy audit

We want to know exactly! In 2022, we therefore had an external auditor determine the current status of our energy consumption and the opportunities for optimization in this area. The results of the energy audit at SYNAXON were carefully documented. We were able to gain some important insights from this, which we are gradually reviewing and incorporating into our sustainability strategy.
