A statement for all partners
Recently, we have noticed in many partner discussions that there is a need for clarification regarding our licensing model for email archiving, especially concerning the topic of 'additional users' for shared mailboxes.
Generally, each user needs a license. This license allows access to any number of mailboxes, regardless of whether they are individual, shared, or group mailboxes. The mailbox itself is licensed and billed through a primary user account.
For example: Max Mustermann uses his own mailbox max.mustermann@musterfirma.de, which is licensed for him. Max also uses the with several colleagues. info@musterfirma.de Max doesn't need any further license for that. info@musterfirma.de However, it will also be licensed once as a mailbox.
Should on info@musterfirma.de If a colleague needs access who does not otherwise have their own mailbox, then this colleague must be licensed as an additional user on the mailbox.
