Press Release
More than 50 partners expected to attend with speakers to include a cyber
protection officer from the Regional Organised Crime Unit, a leading social media
influencer, and the head of an award-winning lead-gen agency
Wolverhampton, 1 February 2025
SYNAXON UK has recruited a dazzling line-up of speakers for its Attack vs. Defence partner
event in early March. The event will also be backed by leading suppliers, including headline
sponsors Telev8 and Terra Computer.
Presenters will include Ian Schofield, Regional Cyber Crime Protect Officer for the Regional
Cyber Crime Unit (RCCU) West Midlands, who will talk about how the threat landscape has
evolved over the years and what the future may hold. There will be a fireside chat session on
modern marketing with Ewan Baggott, football freestyler, presenter and social media
influencer, and Tara-Jane Sloane, Managing Director of Telev8, an award-winning IT lead
generation specialist, will explain how partners can attract new and profitable business.
Victoria Pavlova, Editor of leading channel news website, CRN, will deliver an update on the
present state of the market.
A panel debate focusing on current cyber security challenges will feature senior executives
from ESET, Huntress, OpenText, Pax8, and Viper. Throughout the day, delegates will be able
to network with each other, vendor partners, and SYNAXON UK personnel in the expo area.
Further exhibitors including Dell, HP, Owl Labs, and ThreatLocker, will also be in attendance,
with more to be announced.
The all-day event is not only open to engaged partners, but also to IT resellers and MSPs who
are new to SYNAXON, taking place at Molineux Stadium, Wolverhampton on Thursday, 6th
March 2024. Anyone wishing to attend is advised to register as soon as possible.
Mike Barron, Managing Director, SYNAXON UK, said: “We want to make this event different
from anything else that partners might have attended. Cyber security is a huge issue, but there
have been more than enough events highlighting the scale of the opportunity and promoting
solutions. We want to take a more practical approach. Ian Schofield will give us a new
perspective on the everyday realities of fighting cybercrime – and we’ll explore that theme and
others in the panel debate.
“We’re going to take a more pragmatic look at marketing techniques too, giving partners the
opportunity to hear about both traditional and modern techniques with Telev8’s Tara-Jane
Sloane, and social media influencer Ewan Baggott. Hopefully, by approaching these key areas
of business from a different angle, we can spark more out-of-the-box thinking, and ignite new
conversations, partnerships, and potential.”
Commenting on the central theme of the event, he added: “As a long suffering Wolves fan and
junior football coach, I am used to seeing an attack versus defence scenario played out at
Molineux, so I thought we might as well continue with that theme for this event.”
