2025

2024

    • The SYNAXON brand gets a fresh new look. In addition to a revised logo and a fresh design, we launch synaxon.com, with UK content to follow.
    • Frank Roebers leaves SYNAXON at the end of the year. Miguel Rodriguez is appointed to the Executive Board and as Managing Director of SYNAXON UK (alongside Mike Barron and Mark Schröder) on 1st January 2025. Mark Schröder becomes Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

2023

  • At our 30+2 anniversary celebration, we bring together our partners, manufacturers, distributors and employees to celebrate more than three decades of shared success.
  • We grow despite a declining market, demonstrating our adaptability and strategic foresight.
  • Dr. Niklas Darijtschuk is appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

2022

  • We relaunch SYNAXON UK with a new business focus, moving away from the buying group model and setting a clear course for our distribution business through SYNAXON Hub.
  • The successes of recent years deserve recognition. Although the pandemic disrupted our plans for a major anniversary celebration, we make up for it in style by throwing a big party for our 31st birthday for the entire SYNAXON team, raising a glass to everything we’ve accomplished together.
  • We surpass a major milestone, generating over €1 billion in turnover through our listed EGIS suppliers for the first time. This is an exceptional achievement and a historic moment for SYNAXON.

2020

  • We modernise our leadership structure and gear up for significant growth by launching a promotion initiative, introduce a new training programme for future team leaders, and expand the responsibilities and decision-making rights of our current team leaders.
  • We reach the 250 employee mark.

2019

  • Mike Barron is promoted to Managing Director of SYNAXON UK.
  • Following a year-long collaborative process with all employees, we launched our new corporate mission: 10x in 10.
  • The first pilot phase of the einsnulleins franchise gets underway, with locations in Erlangen, Munich and Hamburg.

2018

  • We decide to launch a new franchise system under the einsnulleins brand. Our goal is to capture the market for modern IT services (such as managed services) for business customers.

2016

  • Mike Barron is appointed Channel Director of SYNAXON UK.
  • The einsnulleins business is constantly evolving “in the lab”. Going forward, the focus shifts to the B2B segment – supported by the launch of a new website.

2015

  • To support our partners in project business, we appoint in-house solution architects based in Germany with expertise in HP and Dell technologies.
  • Andreas Wenninger leaves the Executive Board to take on a new challenge as Managing Director of Industry & Energy GmbH & Co. KG

2014

  • Mike Barron joins SYNAXON UK as Channel Manager.

2012

  • We introduce “Liquid Feedback” so that employees can vote anonymously on various company initiatives.
  • einsnulleins trials new services and marketing measures.
  • Our turnover increases by 44% compared to the previous year.

2010

  • Bruno Fortmeier and his ARF Holding becomes our new principal shareholder.
  • Our central merchandise business picks up speed, with turnover increasing by 64% compared to the previous year.

2008

  • SYNAXON UK is launched as a buying group business.

2007

  • Following the positive experience with the SYNAXON Wiki, we appoint our employees as official ambassadors. Everyone is allowed to communicate on the internet on behalf of the company – no prior approval is required.
  • Mark Schröder is appointed to the Executive Board of SYNAXON, responsible for Finance.

2003

  • Thomas Kruse joins the Supervisory Board.
  • We launch our largest investment programme in the company’s history, marking a fundamental shift in strategy. More than €12 million are to be invested in growth – including acquisitions, new business models, and the expansion of the EGIS platform.

1999

  • IPO and listing on the Neuer Markt. Initially, the admissions committee was reluctant to approve us because we didn’t appear “new economy” enough. We had to promise that we would eventually get into online retail. We kept that promise in 2009 – not exactly quickly, but today we’re one of the few surviving companies from the Neuer Markt era.
  • Frank Roebers joins the Executive Board.

1992

  • Frank Roebers joins the team.

1991

  • October: SYNAXON is founded
  • Our founders, Thomas Kruse and André Flottmann, were running a computer shop in Bielefeld when they began to feel the growing pressure of competition. Their idea: let’s create a company that pools the marketing budgets and purchasing volumes of independent IT retailers to stay competitive in a changing market.
