Goal

Windows Server offers the Remote Desktop Services (RDS) role. This allows administrators to make applications available on a session-based basis (Terminal Service).

A number of role services have been implemented by Microsoft on the server for this purpose. However, the installation and configuration of these services can be somewhat complex. This two-day course introduces you to Remote Desktop Services on the server. We will demonstrate the capabilities of the individual role services, install and configure the classic Terminal Services (RDS). We will also show you which system resources are critical and how to make the affected role services highly available.

Requirement

• Basic knowledge of the server – especially regarding operation via server manager
• Basic knowledge of infrastructure services such as DNS and DHCP
• Basic knowledge of Active Directory Services
