The Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) is issuing a warning today, pursuant to Section 7 of the BSI Act, against the use of antivirus software from the Russian manufacturer Kaspersky:
The BSI recommends replacing applications from the Kaspersky antivirus software portfolio with alternative products.
Furthermore, in the press release they wrote the following: “Companies and other organizations should carefully plan and implement the replacement of essential components of their IT security infrastructure.”
This news was reported in the mainstream press today and will certainly have reached many end users. If you are using Kaspersky, we advise you to take the BSI's recommendations seriously and prepare for the need for your end users to switch to a different antivirus program.
