Patch Management changes the behavior when upgrading from Windows 10 to 11

An update for our Managed RMM partners

Our RMM vendor, N-able, has announced that the behavior of devices that detect and offer the Windows 11 upgrade has changed. It is in your best interest to review your current settings to ensure you are satisfied with their configuration.

Microsoft initially released the patch to perform the upgrade as "Upgrade to Windows 11" and later changed it to "Windows 11". These have now been changed again so that they are released more like traditional feature updates, with one now bearing the name "Windows 11, 22H2".

This should be given special attention because „Windows 11, 22H2“ may be offered for both Windows 10 and Windows 11 devices, and it may appear to you as if you are updating your Windows 11 devices instead of updating your Windows 10 devices.

We generally do not release feature updates or upgrades. Please note the points above to avoid accidentally updating machines to Windows 11.

We will gladly answer any questions about this in the upcoming Friday meeting. Here You can dial in on Friday at 1 p.m.
