An update has been released for Managed Antivirus (Bitdefender). This version includes an update for the MAV-BD agent to version 53.6.1.5.
Bugfix
A problem that prevented installation and led to error 183 has now been fixed.
Improvements:
Managed Antivirus (MAV-BD) has been updated and now includes a new Advanced Anti-Exploit (AAE) module from Bitdefender. Advanced Anti-Exploit introduces new and improved exploit attack techniques. The threat landscape is changing, and the number of sophisticated attacks that utilize evasive exploits is increasing rapidly.
Anti-exploitation has now been spun off into its own module.
This module will continue to be controlled as part of the Behavioral Scan module, and no additional configuration is required. There will be no visual change in the RMM dashboard, but please note that the end-user console will see this module as a separate module.
What do I need to do now?
We will distribute the update. In most cases, a restart should not be necessary. If a restart is required, this will be indicated on the RMM dashboard. Please ensure that the delay and restart settings are configured correctly in your customers' policies.
Delay in updates
MAV-BD engine upgrades can be delayed by up to 10 days as part of the Managed Antivirus protection policy. Upgrades can also be delayed for weekends and evenings.
Handling MAV-BD reboots
- Automatic restarts can be enabled for the update process by selecting an option in the MAV policy on the "Installation Settings" tab. Automatic restarts will occur within 5 minutes of the update being completed. Please ensure this option is disabled if you do not want your end-user computer to restart automatically. If the automatic restart option is not enabled, the restart will be indicated by a blue dot in the RMM dashboard to signal that the computer needs to be restarted to complete the installation.
