What is a @Catchall mailbox?

The “@Catchall” mailbox is created under specific circumstances during journaling. Since this archive also functions as a mailbox, it is subject to a fee. This mailbox is created by journaling profiles with the "Emails from unknown addresses" option. The MailStore catch-all is not the same as a mail server catch-all.  Emails with an unknown address are emails that were sent from or to a user whose username Mailstore does not recognize. Example: Only the customer's info@ mailbox was created in the customer instance. However, the email system sends all emails from all users to Mailstore via journaling. If the archiving profile is running and retrieving all emails from the journaling mailbox, Mailstore can store all emails from and to info@musterkunde.de in the corresponding archive. Mailstore cannot assign emails from and to max@musterkunde.de. For these, the "Emails with unknown addresses" option is used, and by default, these emails are stored in the @catchall archive. The target archive for this case can be customized.  The option “Do not archive emails from unknown addresses” should not be activated, otherwise the emails will not be deleted from the journaling mailbox and the mailbox will be at risk of “overflowing”.
