Managed Endpoint Security
Update 28.06.2023
ESET has released the announced new version of ESET Protect. We will be performing unscheduled maintenance on June 29, 2023, between 00:00 and 02:00 to roll out this version. Joint testing indicates a significant performance improvement is expected.
Update 14.06.2023
Following another successful meeting with the manufacturer's developers, there are positive developments to report. Initial steps towards a hotfix for the problem are being taken. We received a development build to test the hotfix and have achieved encouraging results.
While the fix is currently undergoing QA, we are working in parallel on a restructuring of the existing PROTECT to maintain performance in the meantime.
Update 07.06.2023
Together with the ESET development team, we were able to narrow down the error in PROTECT. In short, the problem lies with the ACL permission table, which is recalculated every 30 seconds. During this recalculation, the table is locked, blocking further I/O operations. A temporary adjustment will further optimize loading times. The final resolution of the issue will involve a major system overhaul, for which we have not yet received a firm timeline.
Update 01.06.2023
We were able to implement an initial interim solution today. This doesn't solve the problems, but it does mitigate them somewhat. The number of timeouts that led to request termination will be drastically reduced.
The actual problem needs to be resolved through an update from the manufacturer. We are in direct contact with the developers at their headquarters in Bratislava regarding this.
